The Latin America Project involves the development of data bases in selected Latin American countries. Data will be used to generate risk adjustment models and identify interventions. Data will be collected following implementation of the interventions to assess their impact on outcomes.
Evaluation of a Care Map for Community-Acquired Pneumonia Patients will study the impact of the implementation of a care map on quality of care and costs associated with the inpatient management of community-acquired pneumonia.
Orthopaedic Surgery Project objective is to evaluate total hip replacement, total knee replacement, and osteotomy in patients. Outcomes include health status at 6, 12, and 24 months post-operatively, as well as length of stay, adverse intermediate outcomes during stay, and adverse outcomes on follow-up, such as prosthetic failure. Methodology involves the development of statistical models associated with the outcomes, including linear regression for continuous outcomes and logistic regression for dichotomous outcomes.
